Maybe this has happened in the past, such as in the case of Al Gore, where prizes are given to less deserving but more hyped individuals, but frankly I hate living in a world where the Nobel Peace Prize Committee couldn’t think of a single other person besides Obama, who has done nothing except win the Democratic nomination for president of the United States.
The only shred of positive (and I am always trying to find the positive) is that maybe he can pay back a few cronies ahead of schedule. Why is that positive? Not sure. He couldn’t be paying them all off, and even if he did how would he suddenly change into the seasoned, moral, conservative (here used loosely as opposed to rash), and upstanding leader the US should want?
So no, there’s no positive angle here.
